Lassen NF Roads map available

Dear Forest Visitor,

The Lassen National Forest 2010 Motor Vehicle Use Map is now available on the Motorized Travel Management section of our web site: www.fs.usda.gov/lassen     

Attached is a letter from Forest Supervisor, Kit Mullen, regarding the Map(s), what they show, their importance, and their history.

We plan to have hard copies available for visitors starting Saturday (July 3) at our Offices and many campgrounds for this Fourth of July weekend.   

Individual requests to have hard copies of the maps mailed to you will be honored starting next week.

I have about 500 printed copies on the way to me....  so we can pass them out to all users that come our way, as part of the education project.  High Lakes area takes two maps,  the total forest 6 maps.

I tried to read and understand the web versions, and went straight for a beer, pounding my head, wondering what it cost to produce those nearly unreadable documents.

I only hope the printed versions are better.  An example only Lake Almanor and PHilbrook are the only lakes shown on the map as a point of reference.
